The most dramatic end to a Test match that one could ever witness was when Pakistan snatched Victory from the very jaws of defeat while playing against the mighty Aussies in 1994.

National Stadium, Karachi is where this epic Test match happened. Pakistan, chasing a target of 314 in the first Test against Australia, fell to 258-9 and an end to Australia’s 35 year drought in Pakistan, seemed inevitable. But Inzamam-ul-Haq and Mushtaq Ahmed had different plans. They played their skin out to add 53 runs in eight overs, to leave only three needed for victory. Ahh! The drama wasn’t over yet. The mighty Shane Warne had to bowl the next over. Inzamam was on strike and on the very first ball, he charged down the track, only for Ian Healy to let a difficult stumping chance go for four byes. Inzamam and Pakistan got a lucky escape and they won the match by one wicket. This was the highest last wicket partnership ever to win a Test match and Australia’s quest for a victory in Pakistan went on.
