Khabib Nurmagomedov and Daniel Cormier, two of the greatest mixed martial artists of all time are also very close to each other. They have been training together for the last 8 years at American Kickboxing Academy. We have seen these two many times pulling each other knees to guiding each other. We also saw DC advising Khabib when the brawl went down at UFC 229 after the fight with Conor.

In a recent interview with TMZ, Khabib expressed what he feels about DC’s future in UFC and how he sees DC vs Jones playing out.

Khabib said that he along with the coach of AAA and other close friends of DC wants DC to retire. He wants DC to finish Stipe Miocic to retain his title and then he wants DC to retire. Khabib said that DC is financially doing good and he is 40 years old. Khabib also said that DC is one of the best to compete in MMA and he should hang the globes when the time is right.

However, Khabib also thinks that DC is not going to retire after Stipe’s fight. He said that DC is an Olympic level athlete and he doesn’t know when to stop. Hence DC will keep grinding for one more fight.

Khabib also said that he doesn’t want DC to cut weight to go to light heavyweight to fight Jones. He wants the fight at the heavyweight division where DC has never lost around to any of his opponents. He also said that Jon Jones is not dominating his opponents anymore as he used to and he also brought up Jon’s close decision victory against Thiago Santos.

Kha bib also said Jones used to improve after every fight, but now things have changed and Jones is not improving by much.

Daniel Cormier will be defending his heavyweight title against Stipe Miocic in the main event of UFC 241. If DC wins then he has a couple of great options for him. DC may retire as one of the greatest to do it or he may choose to avenge his only loss against Jones at heavyweight and be the greatest of all time.
