Shock! Local Hero Son Wan Ho knocks out Japan Open winner Lin Dan 21-10,21-15 in 42 minutes at the Korea Open.

Ahmad/Natsir, Boe/Mogensen and the Adcocks progress to the next round.

After great promise in the previous round, India’s PV Sindhu goes down to Sayaka Takahashi of Japan 16-21,13-21.

No.1 seeds in Women’s singles and Men’s singles Tai Tzu Ying and Chen Long make easy progress to the quarter-finals.

4th seeded K.Srikanth of India crashes out after losing to Tian Houwei 21-12,13-21,17-21. Meanwhile China’s hopes in the women’s singles, Li Xuerui and Wang Shixian made it to the 2nd round.

7th seeded Chou Tien Chen gets the better of HS Prannoy 18-21,21-19,21-17 while Bonsak Ponsaana upsets Hans-Kristian Vittinghus 21-16,21-17.

Men’s Doubles 3rd seeds Mathias Boe/Carsten Mogensten beat Hashimoto/Hirata 21-19,21-14 in the first round of the Korea Open.

Kento Momota beats Ng Ka Long Angus 21-12,21-15 in 40 minutes.

Local favourite Son Wan Ho wins 21-13,21-8 against Rajiv Ouseph.                                                      India’s Pradnya Gadre/Sikki Reddy go down to Shizuka Matsuo/Mami Naito 24-26,9-21 in the 1st round of the women’s doubles.

India’s P.Kashyap does down to Nan Wei of Hong Kong 21-17-16-21,18-21  in the 1st round.

Continuing with the upset fortnight which saw Lee Chong Wei failing to qualify, Giant-Killer PV Sindhu beats World No.3 Ratchanok Intanon 21-19,21-23,21-13 in 69 minutes to reach the second round.
