After Allan Donald’s departure in March, the role of bowling coach has now officially been given to Charl Langeveldt.

Langeveldt was with the squad at the World Cup as a ‘death bowling consultant’ and he was the obvious pick to replace Donald, and on Tuesday the board met in Johannesburg to make it official. They also extended head coach Russell Domingo’s contract.

The CSA statement read: “Proteas coach Russell Domingo and Team Manager Dr Mohammed Moosajee both had their contracts extended until 30 April 2017.

“Domingo addressed the Board today and provided his feedback on the past 12 months, the recent ICC Cricket World Cup as well and his plans for the upcoming season.

“The Board also supported the appointment of Charl Langeveldt as the new Proteas Bowling coach.”

Langeveldt has played 72 ODIs and 120 T20s for South Africa and has been a death over specialist. His experience certainly will add value to the Protean line-up and make their bowling a force to reckon.
