Call of Duty: Black Ops Cold War is a first-person shooter video game developed by Treyarch and Raven Software and published by Activision. The latest entry into the series also brought back the zombie mode, which is very popular and loved all over the community.
Treyarch always releases new patches into the game to make it more enjoyable for its users and weed out any issues. The devs released a new patch on November 24th; however, it looks like it’s very much broken.
Treyarch announced players will get new double experience and double weapon experience bonuses in Zombie Mode till November 30th. This news was bigger than it seems, as it is very difficult for players to level up their weapons in the game. Naturally, many players jumped right into the game to check it out. This let a huge number of players to hop into zombie mode just to level up their weapons.
Players were able to do exactly that quite rapidly thanks to this event; however, the demise of players’ joy was not far away. Treyarch released a new patch the next day and changed the progression of the game. They stated that an issue that allowed players to gain more exp than intended in Zombie mode was fixed. Unsurprisingly, this led to some turn of events in the Call of Duty’s community.
At first, it didn’t seem too big of an issue, but later many players discovered they were gaining even lower weapon XP than they used to. This created a tremendous fuss in the player base. Many thought it was a bug at first glance; however, Treyarch stood up for itself soon after and explained it wasn’t a bug but rather the current meta for the game.
This did not go down well with the players, many of whom are desperately trying to catch the studio’s attention and get them to turn it back.
