The second Ubisoft Forward event is almost here, and it promises some more exciting announcements. The first event introduced the world to Far Cry 6, Watch Dogs: Legion, Assassin’s Creed: Valhalla, and more.

However, as far as Ubisoft were concerned, one event didn’t cut it, prompting a sequel to the first edition. But along with updates on the existing games, there is also the possibility of a Prince of Persia announcement.

Over the past couple of weeks, a lot of rumors surrounding a Prince of Persia remake have surfaced. First, a Guatemalan retailer showed a listing of the upcoming POP title.

The rumors were bolstered following Jason Schreier’s comments on this in a recent podcast. He said “They(Ubisoft) had been planning, before any of this, a new Ubisoft Forward, where they were going to announce a bunch of games, like the Prince of Persia remake that was leaked a couple of weeks ago.”

Prince of Persia: Sands of Time getting a remake?

All these leaks pointed towards a remake and not a new game altogether. But it was still unclear as to which title was getting a remake. Here’s where the recent leak comes in. Take a look at this video shared by Twitter user Manuel.

So, the Prince of Persia: Sands of Time is getting a remake. But fans are not sure if the ‘remake’ shown in the video lives up to today’s game standards. But given that the quality is terrible, it’ll probably be better at the actual event, and Ubisoft may even surprise everyone.

Sands of Time came out 17 years ago. Since then, there have been two different generations of consoles and a lot has changed. It was also one of the highest-rated games from the Trilogy and was absolutely groundbreaking in terms of its combat and game mechanics. Considering this leak holds true, it’ll be an absolute treat to the fans of the franchise.

The Ubisoft Forward Event kicks off in a few hours. Along with a few surprises, it will include more information about its existing games. There may be more news concerning Valhalla, Far Cry 6, Watch Dogs, and some other games.

Fans can check out the event live on Ubisoft’s official website or check the YouTube link below.
