McKennie joined Italian giants from Schalke 04 in 2020 on a season-long loan deal with an option to make it permanent. However, his performances saw Juventus triggering the purchase option before the season ended and gave him a four-year contract. He finished his first season with six goals in 46 appearances in all competitions.
McKennie can play across the midfield and is a versatile player. He can play as a deep-lying or box-to-box midfielder. He was also a part of the USMNT World Cup squad and started all four games for them. Liverpool currently needs depth in the midfield and sees McKennie as a good short-term option.
