Mercedes driver Lewis Hamilton has admitted that he would be interested to see the dynamic between the Ferrari pair. In fact, many would love to know how Sebastian Vettel and Charles Leclerc will work alongside each other.

Ferrari have openly stated that Vettel will be the alpha dog, pending the direction of the 2019 title race. However, Vettel is fully aware that his new team-mate will be a threat and called him a “full rival”.

While Hamilton tried to avoid clubbing Leclerc and Vettel together, he feels that the Monaco native can “surprise many people”.

“Time will tell,” assured Lewis Hamilton at the pre-season test in Barcelona.

“I think it would be unfair to put that kind of expectation on his shoulders. He’s young, he’s going to make mistakes. But he’s obviously very talented and mostly likely he’s going to surprise many people.”

The the defending World Champion will be keenly watching the Scuderia team to gauge how the new partnership works. The British driver cited another youth versus experience scenario, namely himself vs Fernando Alonso at McLaren back in the tumultuous 2007 season.

He went on to say, “But, you’re talking about a veteran, a four-time world champion. There’s no substitute for experience, so it will be interesting to see how those two parallels work together.”

“Sebastian is a multi-world champion and Charles has lots of experience to go through, but the great thing with a youngster is that you’re energised beyond belief, determined and you have more energy than the others do.”

“It will be interesting to watch. I’ve been in that same situation with McLaren.”

“You’ve seen it in one realm, it will be interesting to see it in another.”

So the big question is, can the two get along, or will it be another Hamilton vs Alonso case?
