Premier League club, Liverpool are locked in talks with Nike as they strive for a British record kit deal. According to recent reports, the club are extremely close to announcing an agreement with Nike for the 2020/21 season.
However, the Liverpool ECHO believes that these claims are simply premature, as the Reds still have plenty of offers. It is also worth noting that current supplier New Balance, are also negotiating a renewal of their contract.

Liverpool’s existing agreement expires next summer and it was signed back in 2015. Apparently, that deal with New Balance was worth around £45million a season.
However, in the wake of their recent success, the Reds are seeking more revenue. In addition to on-pitch success, their commercial growth has grown in leaps and bounds.
Now, Liverpool will be aiming for terms that would crush the current British record of £750m. That £750 deal was struck by none other than Manchester United, with Adidas being the beneficiaries. Meanwhile, Liverpool possess the fifth most lucrative kit deal in the top flight.
Earlier this year, defending champions, Manchester City penned a 10-year kit deal with Puma worth a total of £650m. That almighty deal trounced the likes of Arsenal and Chelsea. The latter two stuck deals with Adidas and Nike respectively, both worth £60m annually.
Liverpool’s deal with New Balance has been a huge success and their Champions League triumph has made them even more lucrative in the market. New Balance is the parent company of former supplier Warrior and they took over the agreement with the Reds in February 2015.

It is worth noting that Liverpool’s 2017/18 kit was the highest-selling strip of all time, only to be surpassed by last season’s outfit. With regard to their current season, the Scouse are off to a good start and are currently leading the Premier League table, ahead of Arsenal.
However, they will have a tough match tonight as they face off against the aforementioned team in a league match. So, whoever wins this clash will either take over the lead, or extend the advantage. Unfortunately, Jurgen Klopp’s Liverpool are still reeling from the loss of star goalkeeper, Alisson. The good news is that, their backup, Adrian, has been quite stellar between the sticks.
