

WWE NXT Superstar Velveteen Dream was seen on WWE television after two months. The former North American Champion has been in a series of issues during this hiatus.
Dream faced Adam Cole for the NXT Championship at NXT Takeover: In your house. The former failed to defeat Cole and hasn’t been seen since then on WWE TV.
Last week, NXT had promoted a triple threat match for this week between Cameron Grimes, Khushida, and a surprise opponent. The third competitor in this week’s main event would be the returning Velveteen Dream.

However, his return garnered a lot of negative responses. Velveteen Dream, post losing the match, turned heel by attacking Kushida.

Finn Balor vs Velveteen Dream next week on WWE NXT
Moments later, The Prince Finn Balor walked down to the ring for a staredown with his next week’s opponent. The winner will join the ladder match for the NXT North American Championship at Takeover XXX.

Velveteen Dream’s return attracted a lot of heat and hate from the NXT Universe. The reasons for the hate were much more on the personal side of his life.
After his loss to Adam Cole at NXT Takeover: In Your house, Dream had met with a car accident. He was also facing other serious allegations .

On his return tonight, broadcaster Mauro Ranallo justified his absence as re-grouping after his NXT title loss to Adam Cole. However, the reality is very different.
Shortly before his car accident, Dream was accused in the #SpeakingOut movement.

With his return, it seems like the company has completed its investigation. Obviously, the global entity knows the risk its taking before bringing a controversial Superstar back on screen.
It will be interesting to see if Dream’s push on NXT is maintained.
