Dan Lambert believes that Colby Covington might make his octagon return in April or May of this year. Colby Covington is reportedly to compete in a grappling match in March.

“He will be back training in February. So, in theory, he could be ready to fight in April or in May. But that depends on what he wants to do and what UFC wants to do for him opponent wise. I mean, lots of things have to happen before he gets back in there.” Lambert stated.

Even after the loss to Kamaru Usman, Colby Covington is still a top contender in the division. And he is probably one or two wins away from getting another title shot. After the loss at UFC 245, it was speculated that Colby might take on the former welterweight champion, Tyron Woodley. However, it seems the fight between Woodley and Edwards is in the works for UFC London. So the winner of that fight will be a great matchup for Covington. besides that, there are many fresh fights for Covington in the top 10 of the division. Explaining that Dan Lambert said:

“Colby is still ranked 1 or 2. So he is right up there. So it has to be somebody that excites him, somebody that is a big fight for him that put him right in the position to maybe get a title shot after that. I think we have to wait and see what happens with Leon and Woodley.”

Though Colby Covington lost the fight against Kamaru Usman his stock went up after the fight. And despite the trash talk of  Colby Covington fans will be excited to see him compete inside the octagon.
