The tweet gave a positive reinforcement for her fans as she has been in and out of the game multiple times. Maria Sharapova failed the drug test in 2016 before the Australian Open. She tested positive for meldonium which has been banned by WADA (World Anti-Doping Agency).

Her struggles

Maria clinched the no.1 rank at the age of 18. She is the one of 10 and the only Russian to ever have a career grand slam. Sharapova has also been an Olympic medalist.

She suffered a shoulder injury in 2007 which proved to be a challenge for her to get back in the game. Maria again came to the no.1 spot. 2008 saw her have a second shoulder injury and see her fall from the top 5. She went through a lot of process and rehabilitation. She returned to the top 10 in 2011. Getting no. 1 again and yet sadly, she suffered a third shoulder injury around 2013. She made a comeback but got restricted again due to her doping charges as she had to stop playing for 15 months (lessened sentence).

This time, she has claimed to be back to training and hopefully, she’ll be ready for the Australian Open in full force.
