Preview-

The San Antonio Spurs, with an up and down season so far, have been lingering around the play-off spots. Their 12-17 record currently places ninth in the Western Conference. They will be coming into the game with an impressive 30-point victory over Memphis Grizzlies. Scoring 145 points on the road would have boosted their confidence. In the game, the Spurs were led by LaMarcus Aldridge, who scored 40 points as San Antonio scored registered 46 points in the first quarter.

They will be travelling to Dallas on Thursday to face a fifth placed Mavericks in the Western Conference clash. Mavericks have won 19 out of their 29 matches in the season, and quite unnaturally, have a better record away from home. Also, on contrary to many beliefs, they managed to put up good performances in the absence of Luka Doncic. Over their last few games, they have racked up impressive wins over Milwaukee Bucks and Philadelphia 76ers. Their losses over the period came against Miami Heat, Boston Celtics and Toronto Raptors, but none of them have been with a margin of over six points.

Predictions-

Spurs will depend upon the likes of LaMarcus Aldridge. Also, they will take confidence from the fact that the Mavericks’ home record isn’t as good as their away record. Mavericks will be boosted by the fact that Luka Doncic has returned to full training, and there is a good chance he might feature on Boxing day. Regardless of that Dallas look like a team good enough to beat San Antonio.
