Max Verstappen Surprises Everyone, Announces Multi-Year Contract with Red Bull F1

Any suggestions of Max Verstappen being tempted away to a team like Mercedes, have now been thoroughly put to rest. The Red Bull sensation has officially penned a new deal with Aston Martin Red Bull, which will see him in the team until at least 2023.

Ever since he set foot in the Red Bull camp in 2016 at the Spanish Grand Prix, his star has been on the rise. The Dutchman has grabbed multiple records while racing for the Austrian outfit, including, youngest ever race winner. Since he join the team in 2016, Max Verstappen has become a vital cog in the Team.

Speaking about the new deal, a delighted Max Verstappen said that he was excited to extend his partnership with the Bulls. The 22-year old praised the outfit for their faith in him and handing him the opportunity to kickstart his F1 career in earnest.

He admitted that he has bonded well with the team and enjoyed working with them on a daily basis. Verstappen also said a few words about Honda and hailed their rapid progress over the last 12 months. The Dutchman admitted that the positive signs from the team motivated him even further and made him believe that winning is possible.

What did Max Verstappen say about the new contract?

He concluded, “I respect the way Red Bull and Honda work together and from all sides everyone is doing what they can to succeed. I want to win with Red Bull and our goal is of course to fight for a World Championship together.”

Meanwhile, Red Bull Team Principal Christian Horner disclosed that he was glad to extend the team’s agreement with Max Verstappen. He noted that Verstappen’s presence will be crucial in the coming years, especially with the 2021 rules overhaul approaching rapidly.
