Mexican Pro Wrestler Principe Aereo Passes Away After Collapsing During a Match

In a tragic development, Mexican wrestler, Principe Aereo, passed away at the young age of 26 after suffering a heart attack during a match. While some reports claim it could have been a stroke, officials do not know the exact reason.

The Lucha star was performing in-ring at Mexa Wrestling in a tag team with Puma De Oro. The duo were battling Redimio and Brazo De Oro Jr.

As per reports, Aereo collapsed inside the ring after suffering two chops and a staged kick to the chest. He was waiting for the opponent to rebound off the ropes when the unfortunate incident occurred.

As soon as he collapsed to the ground, he was put on a stretcher by the EMT personnel for treatment. The on-site doctor from the Boxing and Fight Commission of the State of Mexico wanted him shifted to a hospital. While being transported, they declared him dead.

Many current and former wrestlers from around the world have taken to social media to express their sorrow and condolences over the incident.

WWE Hall of Famer Mick Foley expressed his grief over the loss of the young star.

“My deepest condolences to the family, friends and fans of luchador Principe Aereo, who died in the ring, following an apparent stroke. ‘Rest in peace Principe.”

NXT Superstar, Santos Escobar gave him a tribute by changing his Twitter profile picture. It was a black and white edit of Principe Aereo with angel wings.

Principe Aereo was a rising star

Principe Aereo was a part of the wrestling industry since 2010. Between 2019 and 2020, he wrestled in three matches for AAA. One of his most recent wins was in a tag team match wherein he was partners with Baby Star Jr. This match was against Darker and Thunder Storm.

Principe Aereo has worked for other smaller Mexican promotions apart from Mexa. Some of them include IWRG and Promociones Cara Luca.
