NY Yankees Legend Derek Jeter Once Revealed His Secret to a Clean Image Amid Alleged Links to a Tiger Woods Scandal

One of the greatest players to have ever graced the baseball diamond, Derek Jeter, always led by example. He has remained a role model idol both in and outside the ballpark. While most other sportspersons of his stature fell into disrepute, he maintained a decent image in the public. So Jeter once spoke about his rule to avoid controversies of any manner. 

Being a high-profile personality, Jeter had equally glamorous acquaintances. One of those happened to be the golf legend, Tiger Woods. Despite being one of the most immaculate players on the golf course, Woods’ image suffered after his scandals caught the limelight. Interestingly, even Jeter’s name once got roped in with a hidden affair of Woods.

Among Woods’ mistresses, one prominent name was that of Rachel Uchitel. Rumors later circulated about Woods and Uchitel meeting at Jeter’s apartment in Trump Towers for the first time. However, Jeter maintained his calmness among the wildfires and came out unscathed. In 2009, Jeter gave the secret to maintaining his gentle reputation.

So, unlike Woods’ season of infamy, Jeter never really had dirt stains upon his moral character. Irrespective of all the popularity, Jeter remained as humble and down-to-earth as ever. Speaking at an interview in 2009, Jeter said, “I think I have pretty good parents, so I just try to learn from them.” In the same year, Jeter received the title of ‘Sportsman of the Year’ by Sports Illustrated magazine.

Jeter began and concluded his MLB career with the Yankees. Playing for 20 seasons, he became a 14-time All-Star player with five World Series championships. Whereas, famously nicknamed, ‘The King of Golf’, Woods has won 15 major golf tournaments to date. Both Jeter and Woods are Hall Of Fame inductees in their respective sports.
