Mike Trout is one of the latest high-profile athletes to join DICK’S Sporting Goods’ “Sports Changes Lives” Campaign. He joins some top athletes like LeBron James and Tiger Woods in massive campaigns for Nike. This is the first campaign of this magnitude that Nike and DICK’S Sporting Goods have done together. Trout shared a video of the campaign in which he shares a story of how the game changed his life.

In the video, Trout says, “I think I was like 10 maybe. Our team came in second, I wouldn’t accept the second-place trophy. I didn’t want second place, I didn’t want it. I was in tears, crying. My coach told me, “You won’t have success if you can’t handle failure. That’s big. Not just for hitting, for anything in life.”
