Back in 2016, a young 23-year-old, six feet seven-inch tall outfielder made his way to the big league in the Pinstripes. Little did anyone imagine the kind of chaos Aaron Judge would create with his extreme power-hitting abilities, which cleared the ballpark for a record 62 times in 2022.

Now, as the New York Yankees prepare to play their first Spring Training game in 2023, their brand new leader, Aaron Judge, is preparing and leaving no stone unturned to top his MVP-winning season in 2022. The Yankees slugger is already showing the kind of havoc he would create during the 2023 regular season.

Aaron Judge hits a monstrous home run

With 52 home runs in his rookie year, in an explicitly boastful manner, Aaron Judge announced his MLB arrival in 2017. Five years after his stunning 2017 season, no one expected Aaron Judge to better that, and even break Roger Maris’ single-season American League record. But in 2022, with 62 home runs, and the entire free agency bet, Judge proved everyone wrong.

And seemingly, he’s entered 2023 with the exact same attitude.

Fireside Yankees uploaded a video of Judge literally “demolishing” the ball, and sending it outside the park in a practice session at George Steinbrenner Field in Tampa. “GOODNESS! Aaron Judge DEMOLISHES this baseball,” captioned Fireside Yankees as Aaron Judge smashed Ron Marinaccio outside the park.

Fans, and New Yorkers in particular, absolutely loved watching their captain in action. This is how fans reacted:

However, Fireside Yankees also added a tweet to the thread expressing the dilemma between uploading the video, given that Ron was pitching. They said, “This hurt to post since it was off the Don.”

Will we possibly have another record-breaking, 62 homer season?

When Aaron Judge received the question about duplicating his achievements from 2022, he very bluntly said that he’s focusing on his team and that if his plans for the team work out, his individual stats will fall into place by default. Judge said, “I don’t know. We’ll see. I got some goals written down. My individual stats always take care of themselves when I’m focused on the team. The game tells you what you need to do. Do whatever I need to do to keep the line moving, I’m gonna do that.”
