He may be linked to controversies, but he is a person that other people listen to as well. Therefore, while talking about the increased athlete pay, A-Rod justified it and explained why and how it is okay.
Alex Rodriguez will always take the side of the players
Being one of the richest baseball players in baseball, Alex thinks that if a player asks for a $30 million price, it is his worth and that he does not bury the franchise by asking for what he requires.

He made a plea when talking about the athletes’ increased pay and that they are worth every penny they get offered. A-Rod also explained what the ‘Arc of the American Dream’ is. He said, “I’m always going to take the side of the players because what we have to do with our players is we have to draft them, we have to develop them, and then we have to pay them, and that arc is called the American Dream.”
At one time, he was one of the highest-paid players in baseball, and now he is the richest retired player.
He further said, “It’s funny, people scream, shout when a player shines for $300 million, but when the Dodgers trade for north of 2 billion dollars, or the Marlins trade for north of a billion, nobody says anything. It’s like big big bad America is supposed to make all the economics.”
According to him, the world should be more democratic. He thinks that if an industry is grown from 1 billion to 10 billion, then it’s good for it to be spread around and for players to get paid in a big way.
Does Alex worry about the Yankees?
Regardless of what people say about Alex, everyone knows that this is the guy who knows about baseball. He has played professionally since he was 18.
