When Goldschmidt nicked the ball in the fourth inning, no one expected Gorman to run through the second base. But he did it with perfection. Not only did Gorman beat a couple of Pirates players, but he also evaded multiple tags while completing his run.

The Pirates’ defense had no answer to Gorman’s presence of mind. The Cardinals won the game 3-1 at the Busch Stadium. Talking about the same, Goldschmidt said he had never seen something like this in the ballpark.

“That was an amazing play by Gorman and Stubby. I am sure they were talking about it before… It’s something we have mentioned. But I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it pulled off,” Goldschmidt said.
