St. Louis Cardinals are doing wonders in the ongoing MLB season. A team filled with veterans, the Cardinals are the real dark horse this season. Players like Paul Goldschmidt, Yadier Molina, and Albert Pujols have been the unsung heroes for the National League side.

Recently, the Cardinals players, Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Gorman did something spectacular in the ballpark against the Pittsburgh Pirates and won the game for their team. During the fourth inning of Game 1 against the Pirates, Goldschmidt and Gorman stole a run with the bases fully loaded.

With each day passing, the National League is getting more interesting. It is never easy to succeed amidst the heavyweights like the New York Mets, LA Dodgers, and Atlanta Braves. But the Cardinals have done a wonderful job so far.

Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Gorman team up for an outstanding play

Paul Goldschmidt and Nolan Gorman showed that baseball is not only about hitting home runs. With bases fully loaded with the Pirates players, the Cardinals duo stole a run uniquely.

When Goldschmidt nicked the ball in the fourth inning, no one expected Gorman to run through the second base. But he did it with perfection. Not only did Gorman beat a couple of Pirates players, but he also evaded multiple tags while completing his run.

The Pirates’ defense had no answer to Gorman’s presence of mind. The Cardinals won the game 3-1 at the Busch Stadium. Talking about the same, Goldschmidt said he had never seen something like this in the ballpark.

“That was an amazing play by Gorman and Stubby. I am sure they were talking about it before… It’s something we have mentioned. But I don’t know if I’ve ever seen it pulled off,” Goldschmidt said.
