Carrying their reputation, the Yankees’ start to this season was brilliant. However, after a fruitful start, crediting to injuries, they have lost 6 straight series and have left their fans angry and disappointed. Stadiums, ceremonies, and social media have been filled with boos and memes. Moreover, multiple experts and fans have wanted Aaron Boone to step down as the manager.
How did Brian Cashman stand behind Aaron Boone?
Aaron Boone was a formal baseball player who featured in one All-Star team in his 12-year career. He’s been the Yankees’ manager since 2018 and is yet to guide the Yanks to a World Series appearance. The 2022 season started off well, but the past two months have been alarming, to say the least. The Yankees are currently drowning in a flood of losses by losing 6 consecutive series. Amidst this, general manager Brian Cashman stands behind Aaron Boone and his team.

Cashman said, “I think he manages his players extremely well. I think he manages [media] engagement on a daily basis pre- and post-game, which is extremely difficult. You have to be a unique person to handle that type of interaction over time and keep your calm on a consistent basis. He’s even-keeled, and that’s important for our players to see that.”
Cashman blamed injuries for the downward slope of the Yanks. He added, “probably the best run of non-injuries that I’ve ever experienced.” Meanwhile, Aaron Judge tops the list of homers at 46 and is on the MVP track.
What next for the NY Yankees?
After beating the Mets 4-2, the Yankees are now at 0.610 with 75-48. Not only are they topping AL East, but they are also second in the overall American League. Moreover, Aaron Judge is leading the homers list with 47 home runs. If they manage to win this series against the Mets, who are also in splendid form, they will manage to silence the critics and get back to their winning ways.
While a splendid start to 2022 has almost led to a fixed postseason berth, will the Yanks get out of this slump and make it to the World Series or will the wait continue? Only time will tell.
