The 2023 MLB season is finally at an end, with the Texas Rangers achieving their maiden World Series title. The path to victory was not without its challenges because the postseason brings out the best in most. Though the championship is the greatest achievement for the club right now, they will have more honors. Besides being remembered as one of the top MLB teams and having the trophy to show off, the Rangers will get financial rewards as well.

This is an honor that the champion team and the runner-up both receive because getting to the Fall Classic is a huge achievement in itself. But how much the players will receive is the main thing to be curious about.

The Rangers were on fire throughout the playoffs. They barely missed the division title in September but come October, the team was unstoppable, dominating the field. Though they have already received the biggest reward for their season-long fight, the financial aspect of winning the Commissioner’s trophy makes it more intriguing.

There’s no fixed amount for the teams to receive. Each year, it varies based on the ‘Players Pool.’ This is determined by ticket value and the sale of the tickets during the playoffs. Of course, the entire amount is not given away, but a significant amount is distributed among the two teams. So, the more the playoff games attract the audience, the more the winner gets prize money. That’s the basic rule MLB follows.

This season, the playoff fights were thrilling as not one but two underdog teams were giving the favorites a hard time. So, as the data reveals, the approximate amount the Rangers will receive is around $35 million. This amount will be divided between the players and the coaches. So, for an individual, it will be nearly $440,000.

Apart from the monetary prize, the Rangers receive the Championship Ring, valued at approximately $20,000. Reportedly, this year’s prize money is one of the biggest ones in MLB history. Last season, the Houston Astros got the highest at $38.7 million, which is still a record.

While the winners are receiving a huge amount of money, the runner-up won’t be sent back empty-handed. They also get considerable cheques.

The trophy is for one, but not the prize money. Winning and losing are part of the game, but Major League Baseball honors the fighting spirit of the second-ranked team. So, along with the Rangers, the D-backs will also receive the financial rewards, though less in amount. While each Rangers player receives $440,000, the Snakes will get $259,000 each. As a team, the D-backs will get $25million.
