During his playing days, Derek Jeter was a superhuman in the ballparks. Although he was majorly known for his clutch hitting and leadership, the former Yankee was a great fielder as well. There were rarely any games where Jeter didn’t contribute in some way. The Captain earned 14 All-Star nods, won 5 world series, and is a member of the elusive 3000-hit club.

Most would consider him to be good at everything, and although it seems that way, it’s not true. Even Derek Jeter has things that he is not good at. Jeter’s agent even got him a Christmas present to help deal with this issue.

What Christmas present did Derek Jeter’s agent get for him?

Derek Jeter didn’t know how to cook during his playing days. In an interview with Playboy magazine in 2004, Jeter answered questions on several topics. One of these questions was about his inability to cook and Jeter answered, even detailing a Christmas gift that his agent gave him to deal with it at the time.

PLAYBOY: “You’re one of those guys who consider their kitchen no-man’s-land. Do you live on snack food? Or fast food?”

JETER: “I can’t cook; that’s the bad thing. I go to the grocery store and stock up on cereal, oatmeal, Eggos and stuff, and then when it goes bad I’ll go back and get more. Otherwise I eat out. My agent got me a chef as a Christmas gift a couple of years ago. He’d have something waiting for me, and I would warm it up. I think I might have to have him come again.”
