“I can tell you his personality is something that not a lot of people get to see… He is just a wonderful human being. He loves his game…,” Nevin said. “I am not sure I have been around many better than Shohei, whether it’s base running, fundamentals of the game, understanding preparation, or understanding what has happened in the past… “

Phil Nevin also expressed his opinion on Ohtani’s capability to match his talent on the field. “He knows exactly who is swinging well or not… He is so brilliant. It almost matches his talent on the field and that’s what makes him great,” the Angels manager added.

What is the next for the Angels?

Under the leadership of Joe Maddon, the LA Angels got a blazing start to the 2022 season. However, they could not capitalize on their start and opened the gate for the Houston Astros to take over the AL West.
