Over the last couple of years, there has not been a better player than the Angels star. Recently, the Angels interim manager, Phil Nevin, heaped praise on the two-way phenom. He said Ohtani’s understanding of the game is outstanding.

“I can tell you his personality is something that not a lot of people get to see… He is just a wonderful human being. He loves his game…,” Nevin said. “I am not sure I have been around many better than Shohei, whether it’s base running, fundamentals of the game, understanding preparation, or understanding what has happened in the past… “

Phil Nevin also expressed his opinion on Ohtani’s capability to match his talent on the field. “He knows exactly who is swinging well or not… He is so brilliant. It almost matches his talent on the field and that’s what makes him great,” the Angels manager added.
