Over the years, the former shortstop has achieved many accolades while playing baseball. And now, after playing for so many years, the former Yankee prefers to spend time with his family as much as he can.

Jeter has always been a person who wants to keep his personal life separate from his professional. And when talking about his family, Jeter’s daughter is the one who is the real captain. Yes! The former Yankee admitted that his 5-year-old has been owning his famous moniker.
Recently, in a podcast with Drink Champs, Jeter talked about various things in his life, including the time spent with his eldest daughter, which left him baffled at what just happened to him.
Derek Jeter is no more the “Captain”
Now, when the ex-Yankee does not play the game anymore, he spends more and more time with his family, especially with his daughters. At one such outing with his eldest, Bella Raine Jeter, a confession, rather a statement from her, left him with multiple thoughts when he went with her to have a cup of coffee.

“In a span of like five minutes, three people went by, like, what’s up cap, what’s up captain, and she’s like ‘Daddy, why are they calling you the captain?’ I tried to explain it to her, and later in the day, she said, ‘Daddy, I’m the Captain,'” said Jeter while being on the new episode of the “Drink Champs” podcast.

Jeter is someone who never misses a single opportunity to be with his family. Recently, he also made his social media debut. And one can see how close he has been to his daughters.
But it is a pity that the former shortstop did not have any of his girls see him playing baseball professionally.
