Baseball legend, Alex Rodriguez joined many elite clubs during his playing days. Both for his towering achievements and some controversial reasons. Post-retirement, ‘A-Rod’ has joined yet another elite club. Again, one with questionable ethics.

Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez is a legendary baseball icon, who rose to superstardom playing for the New York Yankees. Rodriguez retired from the baseball diamond in 2016. Being the sporting sensation that he was, ‘A-Rod’ always made headlines both on and off the ballpark. He continues to do so. 

Celebrities often make the news due to their reckless behavior. Such irresponsible etiquettes often take the form of habit. Harmful practices sometimes happen to damage the whole environment. ‘A-Rod’ has turned out to be a celebrity as such.

A private jet is an asset. The type of luxury that only the elite section of society can afford. Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez, with his financial prowess, forms a part of that class. So he too happens to own a private jet, like a few other celebrities.

A recent study by the digital marketing firm Yard released a list of the top ten American celebrities with the highest private jet CO2 emission rates. ‘A-Rod’ turned out to be one of the names on the infamous list. He alone has contributed 5,889 tons of CO2 emissions into the atmosphere. 

‘A-Rod’ is obviously not alone in disrupting the ecological air balance. He has got more elite company in the likes of Floyd Mayweather, Steven Spielberg, Mark Wahlberg, Jay-Z, etc. While Taylor Swift leads the way with a massive 9,142 tons of carbon emission.

According to the news daily, ‘The Guardian’, private jets emit five to 14 times more pollution as compared to commercial planes. That is because private jets emit more than 36 million tons of greenhouse gases annually. Kylie Jenner got labeled as a ‘full-time climate criminal’ earlier this month, after publicly posting pictures of her private jets alongside her boyfriend Travis Scott. 

Rodriguez and life beyond retirement 

Having played for the most popular, successful, and richest baseball franchise, Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez earned a lavish lifestyle. Bidding farewell to the sport in 2016, ‘A-Rod’ got involved in broadcasting and business ventures. The CEO of ‘A-Rod Corp.’ Rodriguez is as successful a businessman as was once a player. Apart from globetrotting in a private jet and yacht, ‘A-Rod’ takes care of his two daughters.
