Fans can support and get brutal at the same time. What’s more, is, the New York Yankees fans can get all in for supporting their players. But when it comes to the management, they have started to become brutal with their comments. This time, the comments are because of team’s starter Nestor Cortes on the injured list.
Recently, Yankees fans made their frustration clear to the management when they booed the owner, Hal Steinbrenner, and general manager Brian Cashman during Paul O’Neill’s jersey retirement ceremony. Moreover, Cashman’s contract with the New York Yankees is about to end, and the fans have made it pretty clear that they want him gone.

The team is struggling this season, and when Nestor Cortes got put on the injured list, fans thought it was a “phantom injury.” Yankees won yesterday’s match against the Oakland Athletics with a huge difference of 13-4.
Is the fans’ anger directed only towards Nestor Cortes or the team’s management as well?
This time, fans have not spared anyone with the Yankees’ ongoing below-par play. Yankees starter Nestor Cortes got placed on the injured list because of a groin injury.

Cortes getting on the injured list got backdate to 22nd, which means if he’s fit enough, he’ll be able to come back by September 6. However, no specific time frame is yet given by the team for which Nestor will be missing games. Also, the fans think that it is just a ruse to keep him off the field. Greg Weissert will be called up from the minors to take Cortes’ place until he is fit enough to come back.
Anyway, the fans are getting frustrated with so many players on the injured list. Reason for the same looks like the team’s play going downhill ever since the second half of this season of Major League Baseball.
Do Yankees fans think Cortes on Injury List is a ploy?
One of the fans thinks that only Nestor would choose to have a fake injury on his “groin”
Only Nestor Cortes would choose his groin as the body part to blame a fake IL on

Gotta be honest…It was very clear Nestor was going to get “hurt”. Why in the 🌎 did Cashman trade away a SP????

They want to rest him for playoffs. Most he’s ever pitched

Yankee fans calling it a phantom IL stint like they have any idea whether that’s true or not, what a wild coping mechanism 😂

That’s why you don’t trade a good starting pitcher for a reserve outfielder you don’t even need
— stuart left (@stuartleft6) August 25, 2022
This is fucking bs
— autumnfranco (@autumnfranco18) August 25, 2022
is it phantom though!? I feel like its not….

Real strain or a way to limit his innings?
— Mike Cummings (@wasaprguy) August 25, 2022
Could be fantom, maybe not, hopefully he's not down long as I see him as our Andy Pettitte for Oct. But yeah, Schmidt is stretched and ready to go so let's see what Boone does

Another fan wanted to fire the team’s manager, Aaron Boone.
#FIREBOONE now

As the old say goes you cannot e
have enough starting pitching yet the Yankees found a reason to trade a durable starter like Monty for an injured OF who may not play this year. Another dumb move by Cashman— JG16 (@jgroves16) August 25, 2022
