Although she owned tennis, many people might not know that she also loved baseball. And not to forget when she tossed the ceremonial pitch for the New York Yankees when she was in her prime in tennis.

Earlier this week, the former world number one tennis star announced that the upcoming US Open would be her last grand slam tournament. Although she did not clearly say that she will retire from the game, Serena did hint that she might not play after the 2022 US Open.

However, her first pitch also created some unnecessary noise in the stadium. Because she tossed the ball in a weird direction. Being a strong woman, Serena put way too much effort into the first pitch and the ball landed far away from the catcher.

“In honor of the G.O.A.T. announcing her retirement, let’s take it back to the time when Serena Williams threw out the first ceremonial pitch at Yankee Stadium,” said the tweet.
