The Yankees legend, Derek Jeter, is known to gather compliments from people everywhere around him. And that includes the former president of the United States of America, Donald Trump. During Sunday’s episode of the NBC reality show, the former president praised the Hall of Famer for his attitude. While taking a dig at the shortstop’s teammate and once best friend, Alex Rodriguez.

It looks like the former president is also a fan of the Yankees, mainly the captain, Derek Jeter.

What does the ex-president think about Derek Jeter?

The ex-president was known to be a fan of the New York Yankees, as well as the New York Mets. According to him, he was supposed to be a pro baseball player, and he was the captain of the baseball team at the New York Military Academy.

During Sunday’s episode of the NBC reality show, he was nothing but praises about the Yankees captain, Derek Jeter.

He said, “That’s all about winning; that’s a Derek Jeter-type statement. We love Derek. That’s not an A-Rod statement; it’s a Derek statement.”

He praised a player in one sentence and took an open dig on the other in his next sentence. 

When A-Rod got asked about the former president’s statement about him, he just smiled and said, “Just baseball.”

However, as recently as last year, the former president said that he is not interested in the game as he used to be years ago.

What did former President Trump say about Alex Rodriguez before?

The ex-president first took a shot at the baseball player in the year 2011. Alex made the final out at ALDS loss to the Tigers, and this, made the foregoing president say something about the athlete.

In a tweet, he has called A-Rod, “A less than average baseball player now that he is unable to use drugs.”
