One of the most debatable topics relating to Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez has been regarding his inclusion into the Hall of Fame and whether his jersey number should be retired or not. Many arguments have surrounded the baseball legend over the years, but this one still stands to this day.
The hosts of Michael Kay’s show, Don and Peter, debated, when a caller asked, whether A-Rod’s jersey number should be retired or not. While doing so, the host, Don, compared Alex to Red Sox’s former player, David Ortiz. He was recently inducted into the Cooperstown.

Even after getting the Hall of Fame numbers, A-Rod did not get himself into the Hall of Fame. He was on the ballot this year and got only 34.3% votes, whereas to get inducted, a player needs to have 75% of the total votes in his favor.
What does Don think about Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez?
The ESPN commentator, Don La Greca, compared Rodriguez to the Hall of Famer, David Ortiz. He said that if Ortiz can get into HOF, then A-Rod is worthy of getting inducted as well.

He said, “If he does get into the hall of fame, which I’m not ruling out, Ortiz is going in the Hall of Fame now, so I mean if he’s in the hall of fame, how do you not retire his number?”
Furthermore, he said that the world has now forgiven him for the mistakes he did in the past. In his words, “The baseball would have forgiven him. I mean the world has forgiven him, he’s got the KayRod cast. He’s calling world series games like pre and post. I think people have gone over the PED stuff.”
According to the host, the PED stuff was in the past. And since Alex is forgiven, then he should be inducted into the Hall of Fame.
Rodriguez thinks PED usage should not ban players from getting into HOF
In an interview with ESPN, the three-time AL Most Valuable Player, said that PED usage should not stop players from getting into Cooperstown. And that he felt like a part of him is already in Cooperstown.
