‘They Need…a Diversified Set of Skills’- Alex Rodriguez’s Advice for ‘Home Run Dependent’ Yankees Ages Well as Current Roster’s Recent Skid Continues

What did the analyst Alex Rodriguez think of the New York Yankees?  

There is no doubt that the New York Yankees are a great team, but a few changes here and there can make the team even better. Alex Rodriguez has played the game for many years with three different teams. Therefore, it would not be wrong to say that he knows the game from the inside out. 

The New York Yankees have an impressive set of players on the team, but they lack diversity in the team. In an interview with Colin Cowherd, he said, “They over-index in four things: speed, defense, baseball IQ, and passion. These are the things that make you win games. The Yankees have gotten Stanton, they have Judge, and Gallo, all three similar players, all three over six foot five. What they need is the Verdugos, the Hernandez, the Vasquez. They need baseball players and a diversified set of skills.”

All the players they’ve got are good at hitting home runs, especially Aaron Judge, but they are too dependent on them. Considering that he is making records with each homer, but their lack of diversity, especially in offense, might prevent them from winning the World Series.

Is Alex a part of any baseball team now?

Alex played for the New York Yankees from 2004 to 2016. Rodriguez achieved multiple milestones during that time, and it included winning the World Series Championship in 2009.

Even though he retired from the game a few years ago, he still has not left the game. And baseball definitely has not left him. In the past, he has tried to buy the baseball team, the New York Mets, with his ex-fiance Jennifer Lopez, but the deal did not go through.
