The name Griffey carries a certain weight in the sports world. Ken Griffey Sr. and Ken Griffey Jr. have impacted the MLB world as a legendary father-son duo. In a twist of fate, a younger Griffey family member chose to carry on that legacy in football. But he recently stepped into his father’s world on the MLB stage, proudly wearing a Seattle Mariners jersey. And Ken Griffey Jr. couldn’t be more proud.

Although Trey Griffey was never selected in an NFL draft, he has always received endless support from his dad. Since the Mariners have proudly boasted the Griffey name for two generations, the latest one finally got to join in too.

MLB’s All-Star Celebrity Softball Game is a highly anticipated event every year, bringing hordes of fans to watch their favorite stars in baseball action. This year, the lineup saw faces new and old, like Adam Devine, JoJo Siwa, Skylar Astin, and Joel McHale, to name a few. From the sports industry, one notable name was, of course, Ken Griffey Jr.’s son, Trey.

Although the stars performed admirably, the athletes were expected to stand out on the diamond. Racking up runs one after the other, Trey Griffey added to the melee by hitting a ball past Zach LaVine, adding two runs. And proudly cheering on from the sidelines for him was his dad, Ken Griffey Jr., taking pictures and videos with a camera pointed at him.
