Out of all the free agents still present in the market, Carlos Correa is probably the most impactful player. In the 2022 offseason, the shortstop signed a three-year contract worth $105.3 million with the Minnesota Twins with an opt-out clause. And after the 1st year with the Twins, Correa chose to opt out and enter his free agency.

Now, with the major Aaron Judge signing out of the way, Correa is the biggest free agent on the market. As the winter meetings came to an end last week, the San Francisco Giants emerged as the Correa favorites. However, recent wire reports also stated that the New York Yankees will soon be entering the Correa bidding war. But is there a new bidder for the 2017 WS champ?
Where will Carlos Correa land?
As reported by The Juice Box Journal’s Astros writer Michael Schwab, Carlos Correa attended a UFC fight with Alex Bregman, Lance McCullers Jr., and Kyle Tucker. Barring Kyle Tucker, the remaining three Astros players were a part of their 2017 World Championship victory.

The appearance with three ex-teammates could indicate that Correa is planning on returning to Houston, after a one-year hiatus with Minnesota. However, the Astros were never included in the long list of Correa suitors. But one could never really rule them out, either.

On the other hand, rumors around Correa’s clean-shaven look led to assumptions that the shortstop’s deal with the New York Yankees is confirmed. In 2021, Correa won the Golden Glove, Platinum Glove, and Fielding Bible Awards.
The New York Yankees have a strict no beard, no long hair policy that was initiated by the late George Steinbrenner. The only facial hair allowed is a neat mustache – exactly what Correa is currently displaying.
