However, the result was not in the favor, to say the least. And the game concluded with Judge, down by two strikes, managing to get some wood on the ball that barely crossed the infield and was run out at the first base.

The future of Aaron Judge in the Pinstripes

During the 2022 offseason, the Yanks offered Aaron Judge, $230 million for a seven-year extension. However, Judge was expecting above $300 million, and hence, they couldn’t find common ground. Consequently, Aaron Judge entered 2022 with a massive bet on himself. And all through the regular season, the bet definitely paid off. But as the postseason arrived, we saw the disappearance of Aaron Judge who was hitting home runs at his fancy.

After the Astros clean sweep, Judge spoke about his free agency, and his will to remain with the Yanks. He said, “I’ve been clear about that since I first wore the pinstripes. But we couldn’t get something done before spring training and now I’m a free agent and we’ll see what happens.”

Moving on, Judge drops a hint about his future with the Pinstripes and says, “It’s never fun, but I think when we finally get there and secure this thing, I think it’ll make it a lot sweeter going through the tough times like this, that’s for sure.”

After hitting 62 home runs in the regular season and breaking Roger Maris’ American League record, Judge has witnessed a disastrous postseason, especially against the Astros. In the nine postseason games, Judge received 38 at-bats. However, from this, only five hits. And while drawing a comparison to his 62 homers, he hit only 2 in the postseason and none against the Astros.
