Yoshinobu Yamamoto, yet again, did something extraordinary. The 25-year-old Japanese player has displayed tremendous skills on the diamond. The Orix Buffaloes right-handed pitcher is well-known in the baseball world for breaking records. Yamamoto again took center stage and broke one of the greatest records. The recent game against Hanshin Tigers on Saturday was led to a tie by the star performer himself. Yamamoto’s record-breaking series in the game forces a Game 7, interesting. However, whose record he is breaking in this Japan Series?

It was a crucial Game 6 for the Japan Series, where the right-handed pitcher did not fail to showcase his outstanding skills. Setting a new record by staggering 14 strikeouts, allowing only nine hits to the Tigers. The players combined 138 pitching made Orix Buffaloes tie the game. This was a huge record for the Japan Series, but a player like Yamamoto made it achievable. A player from Nippon-Ham Fighters has tied the record which was held by Kimiyasu Kudoh in 1999.

Yu Darvish has a record of 13 strikeouts in the year 2007 for the Nippon-Ham Fighters. He now plays for the Chicago Cubs. Darvish had a remarkable game and matched the record. However, it was now in the name of a young Japanese player, Yoshinobu Yamamoto. Witnessing the series by Yamamoto, Buffaloes manager, Satoshi Nakajima said, “Regardless of the pitch count, I was betting this entire game on Yoshinobu”. This shows the capabilities of the player. His dedication and determination have helped him pretty well, as he is now approaching the MLB free agency.
