It is not uncommon for fighters to come out of retirement to fight again. This has happened multiple times in the UFC other combat sports as well. Fighters often take a few years away from the sport and feel the itch to compete again. While in some cases it is because of poor financial decision which has forced them to fight again. In other cases, fighters simply miss the adrenaline of being in a fight and return for the thrill and love of the sport.

Darren Till recently put out a Tweet teasing a return of a former champion, “@bisping just rang me and told me he’s debating a comeback and what I thought about that. I told him to go for it so he says he’s been training hard and is eyeing a December bout comeback. Let’s go champ I’m here for it can not wait to see u back out there”

Given that Till is known for pulling pranks often his tweet has to be taken with a pinch of salt. Bisping has made no claims publicly that he wants to return. However, given that in recent times we have seen a lot of ex-champions return to the sport, it is not unfathomable that ‘The Count’ wants to return. The likes of Tate, and Dillashaw most recently have come back to the sport after a long time away and have both looked extremely impressive. Perhaps watching them has inspired Bisping to return to action.

However, age is not on Bisping’s side given he is 42-years old. Also towards the latter part of his career, Bisping was plagued with serious injuries that seriously hampered his performance inside the octagon. Furthermore, ‘The Count’ has revealed that his vision is seriously impaired given one of his eyes does not function at 100% capacity. This will be a huge hurdle to overcome for an athletic commission to allow him to compete. Therefore, a return might not be the easiest thing to get done for Michael Bisping.
