Dominick Cruz and Henry Cejudo are no strangers to each other, and even almost a year after their fight, their feud continues. ‘The Dominator’ took a jibe at the former champ-champ who retired after the UFC 249 co-main event and claimed ‘Triple C’ was playing it safe.

In a chat with Ariel Helwani on ESPN MMA, the former champion broached the subject of the UFC, possibly bringing back ‘The Messenger’ for one more fight.

He claimed, “Why would you bring back Cejudo, who’s playing it safe on the side-lines? For what? He doesn’t bring any extra views.”

He even compared the former third-ranked UFC pound-for-pound fighter with Conor McGregor and said, “If you’re Conor McGregor or you’re Ronda Rousey, yes, you figure it out, right? But if you’re Henry Cejudo, he doesn’t bring some sort of awe factor to these fights to where everybody can’t wait to tune in to watch him.”

The Dominator‘ opened a cut on Cejudo at the Vystar Veterans Memorial Arena. However, he couldn’t capitalize, and the champion stopped him towards the end of the second round.

Following the fight, he wasn’t impressed one bit and one can interpret his comments as someone trolling ‘Triple C’.

The 34-year-old American mixed martial artist was a pioneer for flyweight and bantamweight divisions. He beat the mighty Demetrious Johnson. Subsequently, he made it into the MMA history books by becoming the second fighter in UFC history to defend a belt in two weight divisions.

Cejudo definitely has a spot in the roster if he returns. However, if that happens, it will interest UFC fans to see if Cruz’s comments about the extra views and awe factor will be true.
