Andrei Arlovski vs Chase Sherman- How do they stack up?

The 42-year-old Arlovski (30-20) was on a two-fight win streak before his victory run faced a halt as a submission loss against Tom Aspinall at the UFC Fight Night: Blaydes vs. Lewis earlier this February.

‘Pitbull’ lands an average of 3.48 significant strikes/minute, whereas his striking accuracy stands at 44 percent. He absorbs 2.83 strikes but has a striking defense of 57 percent. He has a low average of 0.47 takedowns for every 15 minutes and has a takedown accuracy of 36 percent. Although he has an impressive takedown defense of 78 percent.

Chase started for the promotion in 2016 but got dropped from the promotion in 2018 after losing 3 straight matches.

They added Sherman to the roster in 2020 after he won three straight fights in the regional circuit. Sherman breathed a sigh of relief as he got his comeback victory over Isaac Villanueva at UFC Fight Night 171 via second-round knockout.

Sherman is averaging 6.02 significant strikes per minute and has a striking accuracy of 45 percent. He is absorbing 5.55 strikes and has a striking defense of 52 percent. He has a negligible takedown rate but has a takedown defense of 77 percent.

Arlovski against Sherman pits, two knockout behemoths looking to make a run at the upper tier of the heavyweight division. With age on his side, ‘The Vanilla Gorilla’ is in the prime shape of his career and believes he would just ‘run through‘ Arlovski, while ‘The Pitbull’ is trying his best in defying age parameter.

The veteran of 50 fights would surely be wary of Sherman’s striking power and will try to convert the fight more into a grappling match with submission being an option. Sherman would try to finish the match quickly with his agility and striking ability.
