In a tweet, Aaron Bronsteter mentioned the names of the fighters who were axed from the rankings in the latest update. Those fighters are Luke Sanders, Anthony Birchak, Aalon Cruz, Jordan Griffin, Bartosz Fabinski, and KB Bhullar.

Why did UFC axe them from rankings?

Sanders fought Felipe Colares in a featherweight bout on May 1st, he lost the fight via unanimous decision. Prior to that, he had lost against Nathan Mannes last year via submission.

Birchak has been unimpressive since his return to UFC in 2020. He had faced Gustavo Lopez in that match and lost via submission. His recent match was on April 17th, 2021, and he lost that match against Tony Gravely.

Aalon Cruz put up a torrid show in his last two fights. He lost both the matches via TKO in the 1st round itself. He fought Uros Medic and Spike Carlyle, respectively.

Griffin too, just like others, lost both his previous matches. His recent loss came at the hands of Luis Saldana in April last month. He had previously lost against Youssef Zalal last year. Both his losses came via unanimous decision.

Fabinski fought Gerald Meerschaert and Andre Muniz before that. He lost both the matches via submission.

‘The Bengal’ Bhullar was released from rankings after losing his match against Andreas Michailidis on May 1st via a unanimous decision. He had previously lost to Tom Breese via TKO last year. Prior to his UFC debut, he had remained undefeated.

In a brief UFC career of two matches, ‘Denisa’ has impressed one and all. He is set to face the winner of Jan Blachowicz and Glover Teixeira and will fight for the light heavyweight title. Apart from Prochazka, Sean Strickland and Giga Chikadze were other gainers.

With the upcoming UFC 262 event on May 15th, the rankings are set for a spin. Many fighters will look to secure their places in the rankings by scoring a win.
