MS Dhoni on Stand-By for Sydney Test

Mahendra Singh Dhoni will not leave Australia before the Sydney Test as per the earlier reports.
Team Director Ravi Shastri has told news channel NDTV that Dhoni will be in Australia but not with the team. He also said that Dhoni will be on standby for the SCG test.
It comes as a surprise that MS Dhoni who announced his retirement after the completion of boxing day test in Melbourne, is on standby. Reports say that this could be because of shortage of time in sending Dhoni’s replacement for the 4th Test.

The news of Dhoni’s retirement from test cricket hit the whole cricketing world by storm as it was as unexpected as his tactics and moves on the cricket field over the years.
MS Dhoni has represented India in 90 tests, the most by an Indian wicket-keeper, followed by Syed Kirmani who represented India in 88 tests. MS Dhoni retired from tests almost 9 years after he made his debut against Sri Lanka in Chennai in December 2005.
