MS Dhoni has a strong fan following in India, which is familiar to all. Though the former India captain is not playing now, he is always in the news even in absence. However, he faced a lot of criticism for his “lack of intent” during the ICC World Cup 2019. In spite of this, he remains the favourite in the same way to his fans. It was recently seen when Virat Kohli posted a picture with him that created speculation of Dhoni’s retirement.

However, the proof of his wide fan following was presented in a survey that showed that MS Dhoni is the second most popular person in Indians. The former captain is only behind Prime Minister Narendra Modi in the list.

According to YouGov’s latest annual survey which was conducted on over 42,000 people around the globe, MS Dhoni has the second-highest popularity score in India. Dhoni, who placed at the second in the list (men) in India, holds a better position than Ratan Tata (8.02%), Barack Obama (7.36%) and Bill Gates (6.96%) and Amitabh Bachchan (6.55%).
