Cleveland Browns defensive end player Myles Garrett suffered a big blow to his hopes of making his debut for the NFL team. The 21-year old Texan picked up an ankle injury in a practice session and left the pitch. Latest reports suggest that he is being examined thoroughly by doctors and assessing his fitness. Mary Kay Cabot reported “the Browns are worried the injury could sideline him for weeks.” There are numerous NFL lines offered by major sportsbooks that can help us determine the course of the upcoming season.
Garrett was considered the best player in the 2017 draft class and the injury will be a blow to him and Cleveland. Garrett’s absence will be felt in the Browns’ defence but they can take comfort in the fact that Emmanuel Ogbah is there to back everyone up. The Browns also have two options in the form of Nate Orchard and Carl Nassib but they are not at the calibre of Garrett. Ankle injuries are not really serious but they can sideline a player for 4-6 weeks.
All Cleveland have to hope for is that Myles is not out of action for too long because Cleveland have always been particular about their defence. The NFL season begins on Thursday, September 7, but the Browns’ first game is on Sunday, September 10.
