Renowned luminaries including F1 champion Jenson Button, former F1 driver Kamui Kobayashi, and the dynamic supercar driver duo of Shane van Gisbergen and debutant Brodie Kostecki are poised to grace the asphalt this weekend.

Perth native Kostecki gears up for his NASCAR Cup Series debut, teaming up with Kyle Busch to drive the No. 33 Chevy at the Indianapolis Motor Speedway Road Course.

In anticipation of his inaugural NASCAR outing at Indy, the Aussie offered a glimpse into his meticulous groundwork for the imminent weekend. Reflecting on the preceding week, he described it as a learning experience, having arrived on Friday and promptly engaging with the Richard Childress Racing and Chevrolet teams.

“It’s been a real experience for myself. I landed here on Friday and have been working closely with everyone from Richard Childress Racing and also with everyone at Chevy as well.”

Brodie emphasized his extensive hours spent at the GM Tech Center, where he delved into simulator training, investing an extensive 13 to 14 hours. His overarching objective is to swiftly absorb knowledge and seamless adaptation to the new racing environment.

“I’ve been at the GM Tech Center quite a bit. I’ve done around 13 to 14 hours in their simulator there, and just trying to be a sponge and get up to speed as quickly as possible in the short amount of time I have” he added.

Beyond his current pursuits, he yearns to expand his racing horizon, embracing a more expansive schedule.

“It’s so competitive here, and it’s so hard to race every single week. Back here you’ve still got to put in the same effort, if not more, because you race more. So yeah, I’ve got a lot of things I want to do back home, and to be honest, we only race 12 times, so I just want to broaden my calendar and race as much as possible,” Kostecki elaborates.
