Bubba Wallace has become a staple name in NASCAR Cup Series now, with 23XI Racing. However, no one can forget that he had his big start in the Cup Series with Richard Petty. Wallace initially drove the #43 Chevrolet for Richard Petty Motorsports.

In a recent interview, the driver was asked about his most find memory of the Hall of Fame, seven-time Cup Series Champion, Richard Petty. And Bubba remembered a game of Rummy Cube.

He said, “You would think you know a person that’s turning 85. So, he was 82 81 82 then you would think, you know that’s me judging somebody. I mean, you wouldn’t think they really understand a board game, right?”
He added, “He taps me on the shoulder with the spit cup. He said ‘do this right here, put this number in this number together, and do all this stuff’. And it was spot on!”

“And I’m like, that was cool, just that side of things was special. I mean, just to show that he’s with it on every aspect of life he’s still got it so it’s cool.”

Bubba Wallace Shows His Pace In Nashville
The 2022 season hasn’t been very kind to Bubba so far, with pit-stop errors and other issues landing him the 25th position in the points standings. However, the #23 car set the fastest time in practice at Nashville.

Unfortunately, the practice pace didn’t translate well in the Qualifying as Wallace starts 30th in the race.

In the end, it’s amazing how Richard Petty is still sharp with board games at his age. Certainly, a very pleasant memory. However, coming back to the racing aspect, Wallace has proved that the #23 Camry is certainly fast around Nashville. So, can he turn the tables on Sunday?
