Home/NASCAR

Dale Earnhardt Jr just got back from his vacation in England and Scotland. But what was he doing at Jimmie Johnson’s place? He’s been spending some quality time with his friends and racing stalwarts, Johnson himself, and Matt Kenseth. You read that right, Jimmie Johnson, along with his family, has relocated to England, establishing it as their new home base. JJ earlier mentioned that his family would be based in the U.K. and that he would return at least once a month, or more frequently if necessary.

On the other hand, for Wanderlust Junior, even though he was abroad, his focus was on the Darlington Xfinity race. His team, JR Motorsports, put on a great show, with veteran driver Justin Allgaier finally clinching a much-awaited victory this season. However, in a recent interview, the JRM owner described how he paid the price for his own mistake during the trip. The beautiful outing almost turned into a nightmare for Dale Jr and his wife, as he was not ready to splash cash. What mistake did he make?

Despite the best trip, here’s Dale Jr’s small regret

Dale Jr opened up on the trip details with his team on his very own Dale Earnhardt Jr’s Dirty Mo Media. He was asked if he was jet-lagged for his long flight back from Europe. Junior mentioned that it was a nice flight from and back home, but then he detailed his experience on an hour-long flight to Scotland, and how it was tough.

He said, “Well I think the landing felt worse because of the seat we were in. Since it was a one hour flight or an hour and a half. We connected from London… I got the budget package. Me and Amy are in the very last row, we’re backs against the wall, and can’t recline. We’re in the tail of the plane I think. Whatever happens, it’s compounded the sway of you know, kind of movement of the plane. Bounce or any kind of hard landing.”

Dale Jr expressed his regret to Amy, admitting his mistake, and also promised that, in the future, they would sit closer to the front. “You feel it less toward the front of the plane, or certainly over the fuel slage, or even in the front of first class. But I was like we’re not buying first class. It’s only an hour right? That’s expensive I’m saving some money here.”

Despite this hardship, he mentioned that he always enjoys the eight-hour flight to Europe. There he gets the comfortable seats indeed!

The Legends’ tour to Jimmie Johnson’s house in the UK?

Earlier last day, after returning home, Dale Earnhardt Jr shared an adorable picture of him, Jimmie Johnson, and Matt Kenseth strolling through the streets of London. They had their eyes glued to Dale Jr’s mobile screen, though, as the Darlington Xfinity race was going on.

The picture was loved by fans and went viral moments later. Dale Jr captioned the post, “Just landed from a fun trip. Took some great photos. Here I am last night walking through London with 2 great friends watching Justin run the final lap to a win for JRM.”

It is great to see these legendary figures pave their way out of their busy schedules to enjoy their time. Even though Dale Jr missed out on the Xfinity action and Allgaier’s action live, it was worth it. But surely, as we all do, Dale Jr too had his biggest takeaway from the trip! Choosing one’s flight seats wisely. He would undoubtedly not miss out on that part next time.
