After five years, Joe Gibbs Racing crew chief Adam Stevens will part ways with Kyle Busch. Instead, he will become the crew chief for Christopher Bell in the 2021 season. Kyle Busch, on the other hand, will link up with Ben Beshore for the coming season. Recently, Stevens spoke about his partnership with Busch and the success they achieved together.

He said, “We haven’t had that discussion.

But for our time together, you can’t separate my accomplishments from his accomplishments. They are one and the same, when you think of it like that, every success and failure that we had, we had together…It was a highly successful relationship. Lots of ups and not too many downs…Hopefully, I did him proud in the time I was at the helm.”

Reflecting on the partnership, Stevens acknowledged that the two of them were hugely successful together. There were a few hits and misses, but the former outweighed the latter. This is why he is truly thankful for his time as Busch’s crew chief.

What else did he say about his relationship with Kyle Busch?

He was also thankful for getting the opportunity to lead the team on occasion. In addition to that, he had plenty of fun and he learned a lot, so Stevens hopes that he made Kyle Busch proud. The Joe Gibbs crew chief even spoke about his immediate future and insisted that he has nothing to prove.

Stevens only does this job because he likes to win, and this is not a fun exercise for him. At any time of the day, all he thinks about is race cars and he is devoted to it. According to him, he is not there for the paychecks or any other reason, he is only there to win. Sadly, he has not been winning much, but he plans to correct that posthaste.

The big question is, can Christopher Bell be the driver to deliver victories? With Kyle Busch in his stable, the two of them achieved considerable success, so can Christopher Bell pick up the slack?
