Sports and athletes, naturally and by default, have a huge impact on society. Just how many times have we been inspired, motivated, and fired up watching our favorite athletes doing what they do best? So when teams and brands come together to help society charitably, it’s always refreshing. This is something Kyle Larson and Valvoline joined hands for in 2021.

Valvoline was announced as a sponsor for the Hendrick driver. And as a little something special for the first race of their association, Valvoline decided to commit $5 for each lap Larson completed and an additional $5,000 if he finished in the top five at Nashville.

The proceeds, whatever they accumulated to be, were to be donated to the Kyle Larson Foundation.

Speaking about this initiative, Larson described it as “really meaningful“. He said, “I hope to repay them with trips to victory lane and important off-the-track work with the foundation and other initiatives.”

“I truly appreciate the generous commitment they’ve already made to support our foundation.”

And for those who don’t know, not only did Larson win the race, but he completed 300 laps. This meant the total amount came out to be $6,500.

What if the commitment to the Kyle Larson Foundation was for the entire 2021 season?

It should be pointed out first of all, that the commitment to donate the proceeds was only for the first race of the association. Yet, what if it had been applied to the entire season?

After all, looking at the championship-winning season Kyle Larson had, one can’t help but be curious about it.

In the 2021 season, the Hendrick driver won 10 races, finished inside the top five 20 times, and completed 9,000 laps. So, by the virtue of mathematical calculations, the number comes out to be $145,000.
