The New Hampshire Motor Speedway had been pretty kind to Kevin Harvick. This is because the veteran driver has reached Victory Lane on four occasions. Now, it is traditional for the race winner at NHMS to be rewarded with a lobster. In other words, the 2014 Cup Series champion earned his lobster four times in his career. Now, as he approaches the twilight of his career, the speedway authorities saw fit to honor him in the best way possible.

This weekend, the veteran driver will be aiming to win his fifth lobster in his career. The hopeful triumph would mark his 61st career win if he does reach Victory Lane again. However, Harvick has a bit of a task ahead of him as he starts down in 13th place on the grid.

Joe Gibbs Racing duo Christopher Bell and Martin Truex Jr have locked out the front row. Luckily for Harvick, he has an ally in the form of fellow veteran teammate, Aric Almirola in 3rd.

The Stewart-Haas Racing team has not been performing well this year

Speaking of miracles though, Harvick’s team has struggled a lot this season. Stewart-Haas Racing has just not been at the same level as that of Hendrick Motorsports, Joe Gibbs Racing, or other teams. Kevin Harvick is definitely trying his best with a number of Top 10 finishes in his swansong year. Meanwhile, teammates Chase Briscoe, Ryan Preece, and Aric Almirola have had flashes of good performances.

However, they will need to step up and back up Harvick, as he cannot prop up the team alone. Besides, it wouldn’t be fair to let Kevin Harvick do all the donkey work in his final season. Despite all the struggles though, the #4 driver could still be in with a shout of a potential win.
