Former NASCAR driver Clint Bowyer appreciated Bubba Wallace during the Cup Series race at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. Bowyer, who was in the booth for FOX Sports gave a lot of credit to the 23XI Racing driver for his decisive ‘turn’ in the last few laps of the race.
The turn that made sure Petty GMS driver Erik Jones didn’t suffer a massive accident.
“Kiss Bubba Wallace on the cheek as soon as you see him,” Bowyer said.

“Because man, he made a move, he didn’t hit him. He pulled the wheel as hard as he could, spun himself out into the wall to keep from hitting Erik Jones right in the door,” he continued.
“That was an ugly situation that could have been much, much worse.”
Bubba Wallace steered clear of Erik Jones and a potential catastrophe
With three laps to go in Las Vegas, Erik Jones got loose and lost control of his No.43. Just as Jones lost control and hit the wall, he went off the track onto the grass, and then came back on the track, spinning in the middle because of his unresponsive steering.
This meant an oncoming Bubba Wallace had to be quick with his feet, his hands, and his thought process as he was heading full throttle, ready to hit Jones’ 43 in a direct T-Bone collision.

Fortunately, Wallace read the situation and steered hard left, away from the car stranded sideways on the tarmac as he himself hit the wall, effectively ruining his own race for the greater good.

One can only imagine what the consequences could’ve been had Wallace t-boned Jones on his left side. And it could very well have been a racing incident.
