Last weekend at the Auto Club Speedway, Kyle Busch etched his name deeper into the history books. In just his second race for his new team, Richard Childress Racing, he went on to reach the victory lane. Though many believed that Busch was always going to be a strong contender, there was an unspoken consensus among fans that he might take some time to adjust to the new team and the new car, considering what he was used to for the past 15 years. It can be safely said that Rowdy has really hit the ground running, and even surprised himself in doing so.

During the post-race winners’ conference, Busch mentioned, “Truthfully, no. In essence, Busch was a bit surprised that he snatched a win this early in the season—not that he or his fans are complaining. He was expected to take some time to get used to the new environment, especially since he was switching from Toyota to Chevrolet. However, he acknowledged that in 2022, the RCR team put on a strong show, and that helped his chances.
